Oct 28 2022 Seed Bake!!!!

Seed Bake!!!  Ingredients  US Metric   1x 2x 3x ▢ ¾   cup   raw pumpkin seeds ▢ 1   tablespoon   olive oil ▢ ½   teaspoon   kosher salt ▢ ⅛   teaspoon   black pepper (optional) Equipment: *Bowl *Spoon & Wooden Spoon or Spatula *Silicone Mat *Silicone baster *4 sided baking tray Instructions  Preheat oven to 350°F (177ÂșC). In a small bowl combine pumpkin seeds, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Lightly grease a sheet pan with olive oil. (use silicone baster).  Evenly spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds on the sheet pan. Bake until the seeds are toasted and crunchy, about 12 to 15 minutes.  Stir every 5 minutes for even toasting, and check for doneness with each stir by tasting a seed for crunchiness. Transfer the roasted pumpkin seeds to a bowl to cool down.

Oct 24 2022 Healthy Living & Teen Food Mistakes

  Attendance.  Students to view the below linked video. The Top 5 Food Mistakes Most Teens Make and How to Fix Them Students to complete associated handout. These are double sided. Students need a pencil? Sign your name on the board and borrow one from the yogurt container on the teacher's desk.  Top 5 Teen Food Mistakes Assignment.  Once students have completed their worksheet please review overall answers/tips as a class. Students then need to place their completed worksheet inside their Baking 8 Block F duo-tangs. * All class duo-tangs are located in the filing cabinet at the front of the room. Students to utilize the box labelled Baking 8 F. Any time at the end of class? Students who have not finished their 'Nutrition Workbooks' - already located inside student duo-tangs - can have time to do so. Totally done everything? Uno is available at the front of the room to play quietly in groups to end of class.

Oct 18 2022 Fruit Crisp Bake, Reflection and Marks Check In.

Attendance. You have 2 TA's for this lesson :) Michelle and Lumi. They know how to do attendance for you. Students are baking their already prepped apple crumble's in today's class.  Please request that the TA's bring out the crumbles for baking from the back freezers. Baking Time - 45min to 50 min. REMINDER - for students - PUT A 4 sided large cookie sheet UNDER your crumble pan before your put it in the oven. This will catch any accidental overflow.  REMINDER: TA's to dole out ice cream - max 3 scoops per student please. Ice cream located in the back room freezer.  * All washing up and tidying must be complete before 10am. At 10am TA's to do station checks re: all items used and ensuring that all returned equipment has been dried and put away properly.  Recipe  - for your reference. Bake Temp is 350 today.  While students are waiting for their crumbles to bake please have them complete a 'Reflection Sheet' on this recipe. Date Oct 18 2022.  Reflectio

Oct 14 2022 Fruit Crisp Make/Prep

Recipe Remember:  We are prepping our crisp and putting it in the freezer to bake on Oct 18 2022.  Remember:  Lab Group Assignments -  Head Chef Prep Cooks x 2 Dishwasher IMPORTANT!!!!  Only 1 group member to teacher station to pick up your lab group bin - with aprons, cloths, additional product items. One member of your group to get your recipe duo tang for reference. * Head Chef. Once your group has prepped your muffin tray (please call myself or TA over for PAM spray) PLEASE be very careful putting the tray in the oven. Make sure it is set flat. Make sure to set your timer for 8 min. Use oven mitts to turn your tray and then set another 8 min. Total cook time 16-18 min. Looking for golden brown edges.  Leave out cutting board for tray out of oven as well as tongs as well as cooling tray. At the end of the lab all group members to assist with final clean up, final sanitization of counters and sweeping of your area.  Reminder re: Sink Plugs.  Reminder re: Washing Procedures. Ask TA or
